Regardless of how your superannuation fund is managed, the transfer of the funds within the account are controlled primarily according to the rules of the super fund, rather than your Will.
With a self-managed super fund (SMSF), there will generally be a trust deed that contains all the rules of the fund. You should contact whoever set up the fund for you to verify what the fund rules are and establish how to transfer your retirement savings upon your death.
Safewill is not a law firm and cannot provide you with legal advice about the interaction between your super fund and your Will. If you require details about this, we recommend seeking professional advice.
