Our Wills are suitable for disposing of property portfolios, as long as the properties are based in Australia. We cannot guarantee that our Will covers the disposal of international properties.
For property portfolios, we find that it is normally best to ensure that you have a conversation with your executor about the specific portfolio and where they can find the relevant documentation so they clearly understand your intentions before the Will is executed. As an example, following your passing, they will likely need to access the Certificates of Title for each property.
Using Safewill, you can dispose of all your Australian properties, either as part of your residual estate or by gifting specific properties to specific people. Our Wills have been drafted to deal with both circumstances. If gifting a property in your Will, you should describe the property as best you can (e.g. including the full address and Certificate of Title details, such as Folio Identifier numbers).
For international property - you can mention it in your Will and direct your executor where to find it, however, we suggest obtaining professional advice in that international country to either check that your Australian Will is valid in that country, or to prepare a Will in that country to deal with your international properties.
