Safewill will notify you when your document is ready to be signed. When you purchase the Will we send you detailed instructions on how to sign your Will to make sure it is legally valid, including details around who can act as witnesses.
It is not a requirement for your witnesses to be a Justice of the Peace or any professionals - they can just be two independent witnesses (like friends or colleagues) that are not mentioned in the Will or likely to benefit from the Will.
After the Will Has been signed, you must hold on to the original signed copy, as this is what the Courts eventually require - so it's best to keep it in a safe place where your executor can find it.
You will also have an electronic copy that we send to you each time you make/update your Will, so you will have a soft copy version as well.
Safewill also allows you to securely store a digital copy of your signed Will, giving you the added peace of mind that your Will can always be located. You can even notify your Executor that your Will is stored with us, providing an added measure of security that your document can be accessed by those who need it.
