How is an estate divided?

Your estate is divided according to the instructions set out in your Will. It is the responsibility of the executor to enforce your final wishes. 

If you do not specify what percentage of the estate or specific assets a beneficiary is eligible to receive, it may result in assets being liquidated and the proceeds being split evenly.

Your executor and beneficiaries may agree to a split of the physical assets to reflect your instructions.
